I don’t consider myself to be mature in terms of sense of humor or age. It wasn’t until a couple of summers ago, when I met up with a friend at the park and she looked at my flip-flops and said, “Oh my Mom has those same flip flops!” that’s when I realized that I seem to be the only person in my peer group wearing, or even owning, a pair Clarks flip flops. Ok, a pair of any Clarks shoes.

Every time I wear my Clarks ‘Breeze Sea’ flip flops (did you notice the ‘fun’ wordplay on the word breezy, what a lark!) I hear, without fail, “oh, my Grandma/Mom/Aunt has those same Clarks.” This happens so often that it has become a running joke between that particular friend and me ever since.

“I don’t consider myself to be mature in terms of sense of humor or age.”

Do you know WHY it keeps happening and WHY it will continue happening? Because, these flip-flops are so comfortable that I DON’T CARE if they are intended to be worn by those who may happen to be “older” and may happen to have foot issues!

You see, I messed my back up a few years ago when training for a half-marathon (yeah, I try and work the mention of my having trained for a half-marathon into most conversations because, well you know, I trained for a half-marathon and all – what’s that? Did I mumble something? No, I said half-marathon pretty clearly. No, not a marathon, a half-marathon. Oh, you didn’t catch the ‘half’ part, weird maybe you’re old and your ears don’t work good? Weird.) and ever since then the right shoe support is a must, or I will hurt. You probably get it if you’ve ever trained for a half-marathon.

That’s why I was so happy when I found my Clarks Breeze Sea flip flops. I think they’re stylish, so I’m not sure why only women of a certain age tend to wear them. It’s probably because of their EVA construction as the Clarks website describes, these beauties are made of EVA material.

“Every time I wear my Clarks, I hear without fail, “oh, my Grandma/Mom/Aunt has those same Clarks.”

Wait, what!? I’ll be honest, I had to google what in the world that meant. I mean they just threw it out there like everyone knows what EVA means. Perhaps everyone of a certain age bracket is familiar with EVA material but I’m not.

So, I did a quick Google search. I was immediately inundated with phrased like “Suffer from back pain? Your footwear may be partially to blame…”; “An EVA midsole helps to disperse weight and provide stability…” Okay, it may be for older people, but… it could also be for young athletic people who are trying to have supportive footwear and be stylish and pain free – like me.

This is exactly why I LOVE my Clarks Breeze Sea flip flops. They are my go-to flip flop no matter the season or occasion. The arch support is perfect. The stability is amazing, the adjustable thong means you won’t be crunching your toes to keep them on, and they are sturdy enough to withstand almost anything.

I truly LOVE my Clarks Breeze Sea flip flops and really, they’re incredibly comfortable, and I think stylish too. Don’t just take my word for it, all the lady’s down at the bingo hall agree.
